Transport Studies · Analyzer

Turn short traffic videos into structured observations.

The Traffic Video Analyzer is a browser-based assistive tool for preliminary traffic counts and observations. It is designed to help students, researchers and engineers inspect footage faster—not to replace professional review.

Free plan: 3 analyses per month, with videos up to 100 MB.

Before you upload

  • Use footage you are authorised to process.
  • Where practical, avoid unnecessary faces, licence plates and other identifying information.
  • Do not treat AI-assisted counts or speed estimates as certified engineering measurements without independent verification.
  • Delete local source files from your device when they are no longer needed.

Vehicle counts

Detect cars, motorcycles, buses and trucks and maintain unique tracks during a run.

Direction & lanes

Configure two virtual gates and lane count to summarize movement direction and lane totals.

Indicative speed

Optional pixel-to-distance calibration produces indicative speed and acceleration estimates.

Private-by-design processing

The current analyzer processes the selected video in the browser. The history database stores run metadata and results, not the video file itself.

What the analyzer is—and is not

Outputs can be affected by camera angle, occlusion, lighting, video quality, detector confidence, tracking errors and calibration assumptions. Counts, direction, speed and acceleration are therefore assistive observations. Review the source footage and methodology before using results in a formal traffic study, statutory submission, safety assessment or other professional deliverable.

Step 1

Create an account

Your account lets us enforce monthly usage limits and keep your analysis history private.

Step 2

Choose a video

Select a short local video and configure gates, lanes and optional distance calibration.

Step 3

Review the result

Inspect counts and derived metrics, then decide whether they are suitable for your specific use.
